Siemens Energy has received a contract from Pattern Energy.
A 10-year maintenance contract is for over 400 onshore wind turbines having a combined capacity of 930MW, as per which Siemens will be responsible to provide long-term service and maintenance, along with technology updates, for six Pattern Energy wind projects in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Siemens Energy Service Division CEO of service renewables Tim Holt said, "This is an important milestone in the continued maturation of the wind industry in North America. As more and more wind energy is placed into service, our commitment is to provide long-term added value to customers like Pattern Energy in order to help them realize favorable performance throughout the turbines' lifecycle."
Mainly, the contract includes servicing at the St. Joseph wind project in southern Manitoba with 60 SWT 2.3-101 turbines; in Nevada 152 MW Spring Valley wind with 66 SWT-2.3-101 turbines; 265MW Ocotillo project with 112 SWT-2.3s-108 units; the 101MW Hatchet Ridge wind project, both located in California, and the 101 MW Santa Isabel project in Puerto Rico.
Also, Siemens has signed a 10-year service contract for the under-construction 182MW Panhandle 2 in Texas, which will feature 79 2.3-108 turbines.
Pattern Energy president and CEO Mike Garland said, "As an industry leader with vast experience, Siemens brings long-term reliability and technology enhancements to our wind projects, ensuring improved performance and lower operating cost risks from each and every turbine."
