Bangladesh : ABB to provide SYMPHONY PLUS solution for BANGLADESH's new power plant

ABB has won a deal from China Chengda Engineering Co. Ltd to provide Symphony Plus total plant automation solution for a new 225MW Bhola combined cycle power plant sited at Bhola district in southern part of Bangladesh.
Owned and run by Bangladesh Power Development Board, a state-owned organization responsible for major production and transmission of power for the country, the project to build the Bhola combined cycle power plant is designed to fulfill the growing power demand in Bangladesh while offering low-cost energy especially to the consumers from the southern part of the country.
The deal will see ABB providing Symphony Plus total plant automation system for the combined cycle power plant, controlling and monitoring the heat recovery steam generator and overall combined cycle plant.
The deal also includes plant life monitoring package which offers customers automatic monitoring of the boiler performance, helping them to enhance the management of their maintenance schedule and monitoring the boiler's life time.
The Symphony Plus solution will offer Bangladesh Power Development Board a vast range of operational benefits including improved control of their process applications, enhanced plant design flexibility, advanced information analysis as well as enhanced overall plant efficiency, dependability and availability.
