Canada,United Kingdom : Bombardier signs Engine Service Agreement with Rolls-Royce

Publish Date : 23-May-2014

Bombardier Aerospace and Rolls-Royce announced a new engine service agreement today authorizing Bombardier Aircraft Service Centres in Amsterdam, Netherlands and Singapore to perform maintenance on BR710 engines installed on the Bombardier Global Express, Global Express XRS, Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft.

Under the agreement, Bombardier Aircraft Service Centres will be certified to perform line maintenance on the Rolls-Royce engines and perform engine removals, which are then sent to Rolls-Royce for heavy maintenance. This agreement will enable Bombardier and Rolls-Royce to jointly provide seamless support to CorporateCare customers. Furthermore, Bombardier Aircraft Service Centres and Bombardier operators will be provided with direct access to Rolls-Royce technical service representatives, as well as Rolls-Royce's myaeroengine.com portal for support and technical troubleshooting.

"Expanding support capabilities across our network is one of our top priorities. Our goal is to provide operators with the ability to receive maintenance whenever and wherever they need it," said Stan Younger, Vice President, Aircraft Service Centers, Bombardier Aerospace. "Collaborating with companies like Rolls-Royce ensures that our service centres are able to ramp up their worldwide service offering and offer customers the quickest and highest quality service on every major aircraft component during their visit at a Bombardier facility."

"We are delighted Bombardier has expanded their agreement with us to include Amsterdam and Singapore, this expansion compliments our global strategy and further strengthens our relationship with our valued partner Bombardier," said Andrew M. Robinson, Senior Vice President, Services and Customer Support, Civil Small and Medium Engines, Rolls-Royce.

In March 2012, Rolls-Royce and Bombardier entered into a similar agreement authorizing Bombardier Aircraft Service Centers in Dallas, Tucson, Hartford and Fort Lauderdale to perform maintenance on the BR710 engine installed on the Bombardier Global Express, Global Express XRS, Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft.

To date, Bombardier has 175 Global aircraft based in Europe and 35 in the Asia Pacific region. This new engine service agreement for the Amsterdam and Singapore service centres will provide more expertise and maintenance support to local business aircraft customers, as well as customers flying into the region.
