Publish Date : 24-Jun-2014
Vietnam Expressway Corp has awarded a US$70.2 million contract to Lotte Engineering and Construction for the construction of a highway in Vietnam.
Under the contract, Lotte E&C will construct the first section of the 140-kilometer-long Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway. It will work with local construction company CCI on the 16.5 kilometer stretch of the four-lane highway.
Lotte stated that, "The construction should be completed in 36 months after work begins."
The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development is backing the overall project, whereas Lotte had already secured the 14.6 kilometer-long, fourth section of the highway in late 2013.
The company stated that, "It has actively engaged in various development projects in the Southeast Asian country including the 65-story skyscraper it is building in Hanoi and 66 kilometer-long railway line it is setting up in the Lao Cai region in Northern Vietnam, beside the road construction projects."
