Tieto and a Finnish expert in infrastructure construction and building construction Lemminkainen have agreed on a new partnership. Lemminkainen will outsource its IT infrastructure and end-user services in Finland to Tieto. The agreement includes an option for extension to Lemminkainen's other operating countries. The transition from in-house IT to full outsourcing is a part of Lemminkaine's turnaround strategy to improve financial performance and business excellence. As part of the agreement, five employees will transfer to Tieto to be established as existing employees.

"This is well aligned with our ongoing development initiatives. As a construction company we do not have the resources or capabilities to expand our own IT expertise. By outsourcing the whole package to Tieto, we can better meet today’s business needs," says CIO Tapio Vahamaki from Lemminkainen.

Cooperation with Tieto ensures Lemminkainen a safe and uninterrupted transformation to industrial service production. The standardized infra services will be provided by Tieto Cloud Server and the end user services comprise of workstation and service desk services.

"With this service package, we get the needed flexibility since we do not have to invest in own infra anymore. For us, the possibility to scale the capacity up or down according to specific needs is a great new concept," continues Vahamaki.
