Morocco : Morocco, GB Ink Two Investment Agreements Of 45 Million Euros To Boost Morocco's Aeronautical Industry

Morocco signed on Wednesday two investment agreements worth 45 million Euros with Aerolia, an affiliate of Airbus, and Alcoa, world leader of aluminum production.

The agreements, under which the two companies will transfer part of their activities to Morocco, were sealed on the sidelines of the Farnborough international airshow, held this July 14-20 in the outskirts of London.

Under the agreement, Aerolia will open a plant for wiring and other parts for Airbus, Boeign and Dassault aviation aircraft in Casablanca's industrial Midparc.

Aerolia, which has posted a rapid growth of 75pc in 5 years, with a turnover of 1.5 billion dollars, will support its commercial expansion and increase its production pace with a second competitive pole in Casablanca.

Aerolia will initially create, over 500 jobs and an equal number of job opportunities in the Moroccan direct "supply chain".

The other convention signed with Alcoa group provides for the transfer of part of the company's activities to Morocco in order to increase its industrial operations.

The agreements were signed by industry, trade, investment and digital economy minister, Moulay Hafid El Alamy, Aerolia president Cedric Gautier, Alcoa general manager in Europe Pierre Emmanuel Gires and chairman of the Midparc company Benbrahim El Andaloussi.
