Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, today unveiled the all-new Elite i20. Aimed at setting a new standard for premium hatchback, the launch marks the World Premier of the 2nd Generation of i20, Elite i20, in India.

A sporty, dynamic and innovative hatchback with class leading unique features, the all-new Elite i20 has been designed using Hyundai’s evolved Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 philosophy. Displaying a refined, premium style, the all-new Elite i20 showcases Hyundai’s sleek exterior and intuitive interior design ethos, projecting a harmonious and sporty appearance. The all-new Elite i20 design concept focuses on evolved aesthetic and confident perfection. Premium equipment, style and driving dynamics deliver a feeling typically associated with vehicles in the segment above. The new model successfully fulfills the need for driving pleasure of customers, while evoking a sense of confidence and class at the same time.

Speaking at the Global Debut of the Elite i20, B S Seo, Managing Director & CEO, HMIL said, “The Elite i20 is a world-class product designed, developed and engineered to excellence to deliver value beyond expectations. The all-new Elite i20 features youthful sporty exterior and premium interior which are an expression of evolved design philosophy – Fluidic Sculpture 2.0. The Elite i20 will be a trendsetter model reflecting Hyundai’s Modern Premium brand direction and will fuel Hyundai’s growth in India”. Enhanced driving dynamics & reduced NVH levels were priorities for the product development team. The all-new Elite i20 will set a new standard for ride and handling in premium compact segment. Extensive testing and tuning as per Indian road conditions has been set out to improve the ride characteristics of the all-new Elite i20 resulting in enhanced driving performance.

The all-new Elite i20 is available with choice of high performance and reliable petrol & diesel engines. The powertrains of the Elite i20 have been engineered for delivering combination of high performance and high fuel efficiency. The 1.2 Dual VTVT Kappa and 2nd Generation U2 1.4 CRDi engines offer maximum drivability in all conditions, delivering high power and torque with high fuel efficiency. The environment friendly U2 1.4 CRDi diesel engine is low on emission and NVH levels; however it operates at a high pressure 1,800 bars and generates high low end torque resulting in lesser gear shifts in city driving conditions for enhanced drive comfort. The linear power delivery and flat torque over wide range of engine rpm’s ensure smooth and jerk free drive.
