Hungary: MAV Could Call A Tender

Hungarian media report that MAV could call a tender for a EUR 660m rehabilitation of the area behind Budapest\'s Nyugati railway station. Under the proposal, prepared by the Hungarian National Asset Management Company (MNV) and commissioned by the government, the winning bidder would get a 20- to 25-year concession to use the area and maintain the railway infrastructure. At the end of the period, MAV would take over the infrastructure, but the winning bidder would keep the commercial buildings on the site. The project could be inaugurated by 2012.
