Manulife Indonesia and Bank of China today announced their new strategic partnership, marked with the launch of two products namely Golden Protector and Manulife Investment Protector. Bank of China will distribute a wide array of Manulife comprehensive life insurance products through its nine branches located in Indonesia’s three major cities, Jakarta, Surabaya & Medan. Hans de Waal, Manulife Indonesia’s Executive Vice President & Head of Partnership Business expressed confidence that the partnership will lead to greater success for both companies. "The strategic partnership indicates our ongoing commitment in providing diverse insurance products to more Indonesians," said Mr. Hans after the ceremony. "Our specialty in providing clients with financial products that suit their unique needs will soon benefit also Bank of China’s customers."

Du Qiqi, Bank of China’s Assistant Country Manager in Indonesia, expressed his excitement about this strategic partnership. "We are confident that this partnership will greatly benefit our Indonesian customers, for they will have access to world-class savings, protection plans and comprehensive life insurance solutions through dedicated insurance specialists," said Du Qiqi. "This collaboration will help us to diversify our sources of income, and will enhance the overall financial performance of our retail banking, especially our wealth management business."

To mark the start of the partnership, Bank of China will distribute two Manulife products; Golden Protector and Manulife Investment Protector, starting December 2014. Golden Protector is a retirement product designed to suit the varied needs of clients looking to generate a regular income stream until the age of 69 from their accumulated savings. Supplementary benefits can be added to enhance clients’ protection for better peace of mind and a more secure future. Manulife Investment Protector is a single premium unit-linked product that offers maximum protection and optimal return on investment for customers. This product comes with unique advantages such as no medical examination for certain amount of sum assured, a wide range of investment funds, and the flexibility to add supplementary benefits.
