Brazil based Argus Control, has implemented EC Key access control technology for provision of low cost, highly effective control for its product inventory. Cristovao Resende, COO, Argus Control said, “We were having issues of equipment being taken from the inventory without any documentation. At the beginning of each month, when we checked the inventory, there was always items missing. After we installed EC Key, that problem was solved.”
Argus mainly deals in video and access control security systems for residential and small commercial customers and keeps a large amount of inventory on hand. Every month Argus would witness missing of certain items and was also seeing losses from missing products along with hundreds of hours spent in order to track down the missing items. Very often, the missing inventory was not stolen, but it was either in a salesman’s truck or with an installer, but the inventory was still unaccounted for and not available to Resende and his staff.
Argus Control installed EC Key Bluetooth readers for managing access to the inventory room having goods with high values. Through EC Key’s Vizpin cloud based service, Argus is able send, revoke and monitor electronic keys anytime from anywhere, something they could not get from a keypad, and card-reader access systems offering those features were very much expensive. With EC Key, Argus have all the access features required at a fraction of the cost of competitive products and virtually no administrative costs. Resende adds, “We were able to gain full control of our inventory with a minimal investment.”
