Publish Date : 22-Jan-2015
Secretary of State in charge of Governance and Public Service Anouar Ben Khalifa, has announced that, Tunisia has made a global commitment to publish an annual report on excesses seen in signing and executing public contracts. Speaking on the sidelines of a seminar on "Towards an Efficient and Transparent Public Procurement," he said this report, to be prepared by the High Authority of Public Procurement is expected to ensure the transparency of administrative work.
He added that it will, particularly allow citizens to access the various procurement contracts signed. Tunisia has made the commitment as part of the consolidation of public procurement in the national Partnership Action Plan for Open Government (OpenGov) announced in September 2014. A new order on the reform of public procurement became effective on June 2014.
It says that Tunisia's public procurement is governed by the laws of competition, free access, equality, transparency and integrity of procedures and that they also follow the rules of good administration. The order also makes compulsory the use of the national online procurement system. With support from the Secretariat of State for Governance and Public Service and the HAICOP, the seminar is organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD).
