Publish Date : 28-Jan-2015
Comptroller Peter Franchot seeks changes on ways how Maryland handles state contracts with companies doing work for the state.
On Monday, Franchot was sworn in to a third term as the state's tax collector. During this occasion he stated that the procurement process is "broken."
Franchot, received all praises from Democrats and Republicans, including Gov. Larry Hogan. Franchot and Hogan are two of three members placed on the Board of Public Works.
According to Hogan, there will be "a new era of cooperation between the governor's office and the comptroller's office." The board sanctions most state contracts over $200,000.
