Publish Date : 02-Feb-2015

Chinese companies are fully capable of taking part in big-ticket international project competition as they have support from strong financial and technical resources accumulated from the domestic as well as overseas markets over the past decade, said an official.

According to Shen Danyang, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, China expects the government of Mexico to respect international business rules and provide equal treatment to the China-Mexico joint consortium, which bagged the $3.75 billion high-speed rail project last November. However, few days later Mexico abruptly cancelled the deal.

Now, on July 31, the new result of bidding for Mexico's high-speed train project will be announced, after the tender process was relaunched by the country on Jan 14.

Siemens AG of Germany and Canada's Bombardier Transit Corp plans to take part in the new bidding process.

At present, China is in negotiations with around 20 countries like Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia and India on potential high-speed train projects.
