Ghana : GHANA launches PSCM department's website

The government of Ghana says that Information Communication Technology (ICT) is key to fast-track economy development. This has led government to adopt an ICT-led socio-economic policy to accelerate development, which will boost growth and improve the country's human resource and good governance. The Minister for Communications, Dr. Edward K. Omane Boamah, said this in a speech read on his behalf when the Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) department's website, was recently launched in Accra on the theme - the use of electronic platforms as a tool to ease the Effective and Efficient performance of Government Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

www.ggps.gov.gh is the website that will offer information and certification on purchase of goods, products and capital asserts that the government will use. The minister said an ICT legislations, regulations and policies had been offered in addition to an automated platforms for the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Registrar Generals Department (RGD) as well as the Government Online Services Portal (e-Services) and e-Payment (GEPP), to guarantee one-stop-service center to provide online services for 11 agencies.

He added that other applications that have still not been deployed under the e-Transform program included e-Procurement, e-ID, e-Immigration, e-Parliament and e-Justice, e-Education and e-Health.
