United States : OBAMA focuses on government management

Publish Date : 19-Feb-2015

It's interesting that the U.S. President Obama is at last focusing on government management with but 2 years left in his government.
The White House is interested state procurement. It is the actual West Wing, and not the Office of Management and Budget, which includes the Office of Federal Procurement Policy.

The commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service in the General Services Administration, Tom Sharpe, said his team has just briefed the mansion's folks with no front door not once but twice in the last few weeks.

During a briefing Friday hosted by the Professional Services Council in Arlington, Virginia, Sharpe said : "Laura [Stanton] and Kevin [Youel-Page] were in to see the President about category management and the Common Acquisition Platform. That was kind of exciting. Monday night, he had us back in to talk about what FAS could do to help the federal agencies, and for that matter state and local, to save money."
