Uganda : PPDA lists vendors suspended by WORLD BANK in UGANDA
Publish Date : 24-Feb-2015
As the sector regulator boosts its fight against forgery, Uganda has increased the list of companies suspended from public procurement and disposal activities to 121. The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA)'s latest list of the suspended vendors includes companies and individuals suspended by the World Bank. The PPDA has listed the companies on its website.
World Bank and International Monetary Fund have suspended the following companies : M/s Energo (Uganda) Company Limited, M/s B.V.S Construction Limited, Mr. Jayaram Reddy (director of M/s B.V.S Construction Limited, M/s Nexus Uganda Limited and Rogers Segawa (director of M/s Nexus Uganda Limited).
The suspension bars all procuring and disposing entities (PDEs) from offering contracts, issuing solicitation documents or invite bids from the firms and individuals, in the suspension period.
Entities have also been asked not to enter into any other transactions or communication with the suspended companies except for current contracts signed before the suspension. PPDA's senior public relations officer, Vincent Mugaba, said dishonesty makes many companies to try to "cut corners."
