Publish Date : 25-Feb-2015
The existing defence acquisitions are complex, agrees the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, and assured to the firms in the defence sector that the Defence Procurement Procedure can be friendly.
Defence minister also announced plans to create an easy redressal mechanism, adding that this system will be established within couple of months.
Referring to the issue of DPP, he stated that there is a need to follow a defined timeframe, which is not being done at times.
Mr. Parrikar added that as per the offset clause it is required to have flexibility in selecting a partner, citing changes in technology as well as pricing.
