Societatea Nationala de Radiocomunicatii (SNR), the state-owned communications company will be resuming the tender for developing a network of antennas worth EUR 120 million, which would allow operators to provide digital TV services.

The initial deadline expired on February 20, and SNR did not receive any offer. For total four times the company postponed the deadline to receive the offers.

According to Gabriel Grecu, general director with SNR, bidders have shown interest, however for many time they requested to extend the deadline, so as to avail the needed financing from banks. By June 2015, Romania is required to transition to digital television, but Grecu said that Romania would recover the delay caused by postponing the tender.
