A global provider of trade management solutions Amber Road has invested significantly in a supply chain relationship services company that will bolster buyer-seller ties across North America, Europe and Asia. Amber Road has entered a deal to acquire Hong Kong-based supply chain services company ecVision for $24 million as well as a further $9 million over the next two years.

The move allows Amber Road to acquire the cloud-based resources offered by ecVision that enable buyers and sellers to maintain a cooperative relationship regardless of the place. The deal is designed to boost both supply chain management services and supplier product development and innovation.

SCM World Chief Content Officer Kevin O'Marah, said : "U.S. and European-based brand companies are under constant pressure to bring new products to market faster. It's all about accelerated merchandise innovation and rapid, profitable execution."

He added : "More effective collaboration with Asian-based manufacturers is key to innovation. Where ecVision helps drive these benefits on the front end of the process, Amber Road picks it up at point of shipment to ensure compliant, cost-effective global delivery to the brand or retailer. It's a very synergistic union."
