Publish Date : 07-Apr-2015

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Region 12 has just received 7 brand new heavy-duty tractors with implements for use of agrarian reform recipients.

DAR 12 Regional Director Nasser Musali said that these initial units were supplied to DAR Sultan Kudarat provincial office due to the fenced premises that could protect the machines and the space available to accommodate all the 28 farm machineries and implements proposed for the region.

The 7 units are brand new Massey Ferguson four-wheel drive tractors having 90- HP minimum rated power, 4 cylinder diesel engines, and turbo charged intercooler.

Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Procurement Service had purchased these for Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) project.

Each tractor along with its respective implements like mounted disc plow, trailing disc harrow and 5-ton heavy-duty trailer costs P2,988,000.00 or a n aggregate amount of P20,916,000.00.

Director Musali officially received said units along with Sultan Kudarat Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) Rodolfo Alburo, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Procurement Management Officer (PMO) Joseph Balagtas and representatives from the winning vendor.

PMO Balagtas of DBM Central Office and the DAR-12 inspection team co-inspected and assessed the delivered tractors and their implements, before the farm implements were officially accepted.

Speaking after the inspection, Balagtas said, "The units are in good running condition, the lights, lever, and siren are functional and the tools and instructional manuals are complete."
