“To create new jobs, draw investment and speed up economic activity it proves necessary to carry out privatization of state-owned enterprises. There should not be privatized those enterprises that deal with food and national security of Ukraine”. Olexii Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine announced at a press conference following signing of a Memorandum of cooperation with Georgia Innovation Fund. A Memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed by Olexii Pavlenko and co-founder of Georgia Innovation Fund Giorgi Vashadze. The cooperation focuses on two main directions - fight against corruption and privatization.
"In the issues of privatization we should determine which enterprises should undergo reorganization, what strategy for them to develop, to ensure realistic assessment of their value it is necessary to conduct financial analysis of the real state of affairs. It is impossible to privatize objects that affect public safety", commented Olexii Pavlenko.
"We are grateful to Olexii Pavlenko for the principled position – to introduce as soon as possible an electronic public procurement system to avoid anyone to steal the money. Privatization of state agricultural enterprises has great potential, especially for the regions. The Ministry has a clear vision of how to create conditions for innovative business in Ukraine. Obstacles for privatization is the lack of trust by society. However, it can be overcome if to create conditions for effective competition and transparent tenders for Ukrainian and foreign investors,” stressed Giorgi Vashadze.
