United Kingdom : EQUINITI to work on Passport Office contract

Publish Date : 14-Apr-2015

Belfast-based Equiniti has been contracted to provide its cloud-based computing services to Her Majesty's Passport Office. Equiniti has won the contract through the government's G-Cloud procurement framework.

Initially, the services will be deployed at HM Passport Office's Glasgow site, which will be further extended to additional six HM Passport Office locations across the UK. This service has been designed to reduce the work involved in recording, planning, managing absence, reporting and auditing plus scheduling of employees who work on a fixed or flexible hours working basis.

Nigel Farr, a director at Equiniti, said, “Working patterns have changed dramatically over the last decade and far fewer businesses operate the stereotypical 9-5 hours. Having a time and attendance system that is cloud-based is increasing becoming essential in order to accommodate anything from flexible working or remote working to job sharing and hot-desking across locations.”

"Her Majesty’s Passport Office has increased its flexibility and capability to respond to extreme external pressures which have a direct effect on its workforce requirements."

Earlier, Equiniti's work in HR and payroll covers processing payments for NHS trusts and clients include the Scottish Parliament, the Electoral Office of Northern Ireland and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and also processing payments for 20 per cent of UK pensioners and supporting 20 per cent of work-based pension schemes.
