Jamaica : JAMAICA to spend $51 million on its electronic government procurement system
Publish Date : 15-Apr-2015
The Government of Jamaica will be spending $51 million on its electronic government procurement system in a move to boost its public procurement to purchase and tender agencies and suppliers.
Automation as well as integration of these activities would be done in a single portal.
Jamaica’s parliament is to ratify total $51 million, out of which only over $31 million will go towards the hosting server and electronic procurement system, which would likely be in place by July.
The amount also include $1.47 million to be reserved for training, $575,000 for a final project evaluation and a project audit costing of just over $1 million.
The Jamaican government and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) have jointly offered the required funding.
