United States : CALIFORNIA's High-Speed Rail Authority approves 5 bidders for more construction
Publish Date : 23-Apr-2015
Five construction teams have submitted qualifications allowing them to bid on the third segment of the project, said California’s High-Speed Rail Authority on Monday. Cost of the 22-mile segment running through Tulare and Kings counties is expected to be between $400 million and $500 million.
The qualifying bidders include the two joint ventures that bagged the much larger construction contracts for the first and second phases of the $68 billion project in the Central Valley. The bidders are Tutor Perini/Zachry/Parsons and Dragados/Flatiron.
California Rail Builders: Ferrovial Agroman; Central Valley Connection Builders: FCC Construccion S.A. and Corsan-Corviam Construccion S.A.; and Salini Impregilo/Security Paving Joint Venture, are the other qualifying bidders. Evaluation of the candidates depends upon experience, technical competency, project understanding and ability to perform. However, they did not submit cost proposals.
