Publish Date : 29-Apr-2015
Response has been received from 175 bidders for the tender to provide state offices with "common user items".
75 firms have submitted bids for a 3-year contract with the government to provide "common user items", a shopping list of items used in the routine operation of state offices, from sanitary items to uniforms, computers and vehicles.
During the last financial year, the government paid 1.3 billion Br to make such procurements.
The Public Procurement & Property Disposal Service (PPPDS) unveiled the bid on 20th March, 2015 in 7 lots: IT equipment, toner, stationery, office furniture, tyres for vehicles, uniforms and sanitary items.
Out of the 175 that purchased the bid document, the tender attracted 75 bidders by the opening date of 24th April.
The while technical assessment process is expected to be completed in 40 day's time, and will be followed by the financial review. The bid will be awarded by July end.
Public relations officer of PPPDS, Melkamu Defali, said the final decision of the procurement will made by the Procurement Board, which is chaired by the State Minister for Finance & Economic Development, Abraham Tekeste (Ph.D.), following the order that all procurements of over 100 million Br needs the Board's approval.
