India : VIDEOCON TELECOM announces to invest Rs. 210 crore in GUJRAT

Videocon Telecommunications confirmed plans to splurge Rs. 210 crore in the Gujarat circle for site extension and business expansion amid the fiscal year 2015-16. The organization, which right now has 3,989 phone sites covering 836 towns in Gujarat, will deploy 330 sites to bring 142 new towns under its range, wherein 120 sites will be added for limit improvement to oblige more clients.
In Gujarat, the organization has around 25 lakh clients, while it adds 2.5 to 3 lakh clients consistently. Broadly, it has more than 10 million clients with 700,000 to 800,000 being included consistently.
Arvind Bali, Director & CEO, Videocon Telecommunications Ltd said, "Students are the main target audience for our services. We have seen a sharp growth in data usage from this group of users. Last year, the data growth was 147 per cent, this year we expect it to grow at 150 per cent."
He added, "GSM is the largest contributor to revenues. The other contributors are our enterprise business, broadband, and new circle additions." The organization is looking forward to install its broadband services in Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara. He said, "The rollout will primarily be on FTTH (fibre to the home) services and wireless broadband."
