Zambia : CABINET approves roll out of e-voucher system for 2015-16 farming season
Publish Date : 16-Jun-2015
Under the Fertilizer Input Support programme (FISP), the Zambian cabinet ministers have allowed to launch an electronic voucher (e-voucher) system for the 2015-2016 farming season.
In early this month the country's government said it launch the mobile and tracking system for the distribution of subsidized seeds and fertilizer through private vendors to specific farmers in a bid to curb corruption in the distribution of farming inputs.
And now the proposal has won the approval of the cabinet and the ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Services has started sensitization meetings for its employees that will be engaged in the project.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Service Julius Shawa has announced the Cabinet has approved the project.
