Publish Date : 20-Jun-2015
Indian Railways (IR) has invited a tender for a deal for around Rs 25bn (390m) to provide 315 EMU cars for inter-city facilities.
As indicated by the tender, the initial two 20-car trains will be fabricated outside India yet all left 275 vehicles will be collected locally by the chosen supplier, a necessity of the Made in India system propelled by prime minister Mr Narendra Modi.
A shortlist of competent bidders will be declared on August 12 and Indian Railways arrangements to grant the deal by December.
