Indonesia : Transjakarta launches 20 buses procured through Government Procurement of Goods and Services Agency (LKPP) e-catalogue
Publish Date : 23-Jun-2015
On Monday, city-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) introduced 20 buses purchased through the Government Procurement of Goods and Services Agency (LKPP) e-catalogue.
The twenty buses were of the Swedish-made Scania range.
Transjakarta president director Steve Kosasih said that the 20 buses were among the total 51 buses the company purchased in 2015.
Speaking at a launch at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta, Kosasih said, "These are the first buses we procured through the e-catalogue. The previous buses were procured through a bidding process."
At the same event, Transjakarta launched a round-the-clock hotline for complaints and reports.
Moreover, Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama said he is satisfied with the procurement, as it was the first time that the city procured buses through the e-catalogue.
He added, "Bidding is a long process, and is prone to corruption. I'm very happy that we finally purchased high quality buses through the e-catalogue."
