Philippines : DOTC opens bids for LRT consultancy contract

Publish Date : 23-Jun-2015

The eligibility documents and technical proposals for an independent consultant's negotiated procurement for the P65-billion Light Rail Transit line 1 (LRT1) Cavite Extension project will be opened by the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) on 23rd June.

DOTC negotiating team head Marguerite Therese Lucila-Tesoro released a bulletin moving the filing of the financial and technical proposals as well as the opening of the eligibility documents and technical proposals to 23rd June rather than 19th June.

The DOTC has set aside P831.35 million to implement the negotiated procurement of the independent consultant for the LRT Line 1 extension as well as operations and maintenance project.

The agency is now implementing the contract's negotiated procurement after two failed biddings.

While the other P415.67 million would come from the Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC)'s funds, the DOTC plans to source P415.67 million from the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2014.

DOTC said the contract should be concluded within 5 years from Notice to Proceed's date of issuance.
