United Kingdom : HSCIC concludes GPSoC framework procurement

Publish Date : 24-Jun-2015

The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) has concluded a list of vendors chosen to provide improved technology services to support interoperable care through the 3rd Lot of the General Practice Systems of Choice (GPSoC) framework.

Split into 3 separate Lots, GPSoC, is devised as a framework meant to provide IT systems and services to GP practices and associated bodies working across the NHS in England.

As the first 2 Lots - which offer clinical IT systems and further GP IT services - has already been offered, HSCIC said Orion Health has become the final firm to earn a place on the agreement's 3rd Lot after signing a deal with the authority late in May 2015.

HSCIC stated, "Lot 3 enables local organisations, including GPs and clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), to procure services that allow interoperation between systems used in GP practices and systems used in other care settings. Lot 3 doesn't impact services already being delivered to GP practices under Lots 1 and 2, for which contracts were signed in 2014, but it expands the number, scope and choice of services available under GPSoC."

The firm will join BT, Cerner, EMIS, Health Intelligence, Informatica Systems (BMJ), Healthcare Gateway, In Practice Systems, Insight Direct, Microtest, Intersystems Corporation and OLM Systems on the 3rd Lot.
