Switzerland : SAAB secures missile warhead contract from MBDA

Saab has secured a warhead production contract from MBDA France for MMP medium-range missile.
Saab’s subsidiary Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland (SBDS) has won the said contract with deliveries scheduled for 2017.
A high-technology, new-generation battlefield missile, the MMP (Missile Moyenne Portee, medium-range missile) is established as one of the French Ministry of Defense’s major new programmes, within its Military Planning Act 2014-2019, for upgrading the French Army.
At present, this versatile missile is in its development phase following notification of a development contract by the French defence procurement agency, the DGA.
The warhead for the MMP, developed by Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland (SBDS), with high precision, the MMP will allow armed forces to neutralise varioug target types that they might encounter.
Already, tests with the warhead against the latest generation of explosive reactive armour have been completed successfully.
