Saab's Swiss subsidiary will be producing warheads for the medium-range Missile Moyenne Portee, or MMP, of MBD France.

Financial details of the award to Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland was not known, however, according to Saab, delivery of the warheads would take place in 2017.

A new-generation battlefield missile, the MMP system is a major acquisition item for the French Army.

At present, the system is in its development phase following MBDA's receipt of a development contract by the French defense procurement agency, DGA.

According to Saab, the warhead for the MMP can be used against various targets and minimizes collateral.

Tests with the warhead against the latest generation of explosive reactive armor have been completed successfully.
