Cameroon : CAMEROON invites bids for inspection and monitoring of construction works of some markets at its borders

Publish Date : 22-Jul-2015

The government of Cameroon has invited bids for the inspection and monitoring of construction works of some markets at its borders.

The markets includes Fotokol, in the extreme North bordering Nigeria, Ekok, in the South-West also bordering Nigeria and Garoua Boulai, in the Eastern region sharing a border with the Central Africa Republic.

The three markets are said to be in addition to those of Abang-Minko and Kye-Ossi, located in the South region of Cameroon, and are the main places of commercial transactions with Gabonese and Equatorial Guineans traders.

During next couple of years, other similar projects are likely to follow, said a source familiar with the development.

The government seeks capitalising on the geographic location of Cameroon relative to Nigeria, leading economy in Africa, and the member countries of CEMAC and CEEAC, which together accounts for a market of 300 million consumers.
