Slovenia : Government approves the draft Public Procurement Act
Publish Date : 25-Jul-2015
At today’s session, the government approved the draft Public Procurement Act, which regulates the rational use of public funds and transposes new EU directives on public procurement. Its solutions will enable more transparent, shorter and more effective procedures. The new system promotes innovation and quality, and explicitly prohibits price as the only criterion for specific services (engineer and architectural services).
The government adopted the draft Act Amending Act Defining the Measures of the Republic of Slovenia to Strengthen Bank Stability, which preserves all the essential goals of the act. To make the legislation more transparent and ensure more legal safety, the draft act will also transpose some content from the decree on the implementation of measures to strengthen bank stability regarding the duties of a bank that is subject to measures, decisions to use measures, the payment of capital instruments, the assessment of real long-term economic value, rights to retransfer and rules on borrowing, debt management and the use of cash in hand.
The government also discussed the report on the activities implemented to assist the socially weakest citizens. The measures foresee debt relief, temporary assistance measures (obtaining a flat) for evicted families and pre-paid cards that are to be used by beneficiaries of rights financed by public funds.
The government was also informed about the analysis of doing internship in Slovenia and adopted an action plan regarding the organisation and performance of internships.
