Publish Date : 30-Jul-2015

Technip has won a contract from Petronas Carigali.

According to Technip, the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract is for the tie-in of the Petronas First Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (PFLNG1) facility to the KAKG-A platform located in Kanowit field, around 200 km offshore Bintulu, East Malaysia, at a water depth of approximately 80m.

The awarded contract includes the procurement and installation of a 3.2 km flexible flowline between the existing KAKG-A central processing platform, in Kanowit field, and the PFLNG1 riser, along with the modification and tie-in works at KAKG-A. The contract is to be executed by Technip’s operating center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Production of the flexible flowline will be carried out at Technip’s manufacturing facility in Tanjung Langsat, Johor, Malaysia, Asiaflex Products, and will be later installed by the group’s multipurpose vessel, the Deep Orient.

Completion of the installation campaign is expected in late 2015.

The PFLNG1 vessel is expected to produce 1.2 million tonnes of LNG on annual basis. The role of this vessel will be significant towards Petronas efforts to unlock gas reserves in Malaysia's remote and stranded fields in addressing the growing demand for gas.
