Italy : TELECOM ITALIA won 7 tenders for Broadband services

Telecom Italia has affirmed the previous of 7 government deals to rope in rapid broadband to the areas of Molise, Lazio, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily.

Around 10 million residents in over760 municipalities will get pace of 30 to 100 Mbps, while connections of 100 Mbps will likewise be got for about 5,200 government offices, consisting over 400 hospitals and medical support and around 2,000 schools.

Telecom Italia bagged entire 7 tenders run by the government's Infratel arm and will get EUR 358 million in public funds for providing the passive infrastructure and dark fibre.

It will render another EUR 394 million of its finances, of which 179 million for the passive factor and 215 million for the electronics requirement to provide the broadband facility at about 24,000 street cabinets.
