China,Japan : CHINA, JAPAN bids on Indonesian Bullet Train Deal

Publish Date : 12-Aug-2015

China and Japan are contending for a deal to construct a bullet train system in Indonesia.

Both of them are bidding for a project that means the construction of a 150-kilometer high-speed railway between Jakarta and Indonesia's fourth-largest city of Bandung.

Japan has handed over a feasibility study on the railway to Indonesia in 2011, while China supplied a similar report in July.

Both proposals includes similar terms that center on a 40-year credit loan, but Japan's offer of a 0.1% interest rate is slightly lower than China's.

The size of the loan, the interest rate, total spending, after-sales services, technical schemes and projected construction time are all variables that could influence the decision regarding the project.
