The Ministry of Railways, Government of India and the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)on Technical Cooperation in Railway Sector.

Mr. Ganga Ram Agarwal, Secretary, Railway Board and Mr. Zigmund Bertok, Ambassador of Slovak Republic have signed the MoU.

The MoU is valid for a period of two years and will be automatically renewed for further successive period of two years at a time.

The MoU is aimed at cooperation in areas such as infrastructure building and management station development and workshop modernisation. Information & communication technologies especially for passenger amenities. Modernisation of rolling stock. Modernisation of Signaling & Telecom.

Any other area mutually agreed between the Parties, falling within the scope of this MoU.
