United Kingdom : AIS signs contract for industrial insulation jackets

AIS, based in North Shields has landed a contract for delivery of industrial insulation jackets within North Tyneside Councils buildings. The deal is awarded in order to cut both its energy bill and carbon footprint.
The firm will make nearly 800 jackets, which will then be set up in 12 of the local authoritys leisure centres across North Tyneside.
Paul Nelson, environmental sustainability manager at North Tyneside Council, said: We have delivered a number of projects to help achieve this and will continue to work through our delivery plan to take us beyond our target.
He added: We commissioned AIS following a rigorous procurement process to insulate all of the exposed pipe work within selected public buildings and we anticipate that this will help us to substantially reduce our energy bills at the same time as reducing our carbon footprint.
The insulation jacketing systems will be tailor-made using local labour, according to Head of AIS technical, Chris Evans.
