A deal has been won by Sedgman with BHP Billiton's iron ore division for civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and commissioning works at the Jimblebar iron ore mine in the Pilbara.

Brisbane-based Sedgman's joint venture has secured a $145 million deal with Civmec Construction and Engineering.

Sedgman and Civmec have an established track record in Western Australia of delivering metals process and materials handling projects in partnership over the last three years and we are excited to be able to broaden this relationship to the iron ore sector," Sedgman chief executive Peter Watson said.

The deals award followed a competitive tender process for the set up of a new primary crusher and additional conveyor capacity.
