Germany,Jordan : PHOENIX SOLAR selected to construct 3 power plants in JORDAN

On Wednesday, German photovoltaic system integrator Phoenix Solar AG announced that the company and its partner Millennium Energy Industries, have jointly won an order to build a series of three photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 11 MWp in Jordan.

The contract is for the construction of the largest photovoltaic project in the private sector in Jordan.

Main objective of the project is to provide Arab International Hotels, plc, owner of Marriott Amman, Al Dawliyah for Hotels & Malls, plc, owner of Sheraton Amman, and Business Tourism Company, owner of Marriott Dead Sea and Marriott Petra, with the capability to generate 100% of their electric power needs from solar energy.

These hotels, with the adoption of an innovative, full-scale approach to green energy, will reduce virtually to zero the environmental impact of their electric power requirements through a saving of 10.7 million kilograms of CO2 emissions per year.

Phoenix Solar will be responsible to take up all engineering, procurement and project management work while Millennium Energy Industries will take on the actual construction works.

Additionally, Phoenix Solar will have to provide the operation and maintenance services for the three power plants.
