Ukraine : Ministry of Defense of Ukraine saves over UAH 176 million through e-auctions in public procurement

In the framework of pursuing an anti-corruption policy, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine continues to apply the ProZorro solution in public procurement. Since late June of this year there have been conducted 242 e-procurement operations, which enabled economizing over UAH 176 million.
In particular, there have been signed 130 contracts with a planned amount of purchases worth UAH 593.29 million. Whereas, 69 electronic procurement processes are in progress.
The Defense Ministry officials emphasize that, in general, under a reform of inventory and logistics management there have been introduced 7 pilot projects in the areas of procurement, management of public enterprises, clothing and food supplies, nutrition of military, as well as providing them with housing. According to the calculations, the electronic e-procurement system which was enacted in June of this year enabled the Ministry of Defense to save at least 10% of the funds on a monthly basis.
