The contract was signed as a result of a tender won by Power Machines which provided the best technical and economic solution.
According to the contract, Power Machines will design, manufacture, deliver, and transport the main power equipment for the hydroelectric power plant under construction, and provide installation, commissioning, and testing services. The set of equipment includes two turbines 55 MW each, one 10 MW turbine complete with a generator and hydromechanical equipment.
Equipment delivery completion and plant startup are scheduled for 2019.
Latin America is one of the key regions for Power Machines. As in other world regions, integrated supply and turnkey services are in demand here. And Power Machines is willing to meet this demand in all aspects, by offering our clients a wide selection of highly reliable electric equipment, as well as associated high quality services, - commented on the contract Power Machines General Director Roman Filippov.
Power Machines is currently participating in two projects for the delivery of equipment for HPPs in Chile, La Frontera and La Mina. The equipment delivery contract for the latter HPP was signed with Colbun (Chile) in December 2014.
The Quilleco HPP, for which Power Machines supplied equipment on a turnkey basis, has been successfully operated in Chile since June 2007. The La Higuera HPP was launched in 2010, for which Power Machines had designed and conducted hydroturbine model testing, and also manufactured and delivered two hydrogenerators with a capacity of 77.5 MW each, complete with excitation systems.
