Delta Air Lines has placed itself to enhance its share in Aeromexico from less than 5% to around 49%.

Delta has made a hard money tender offer of around $2.63 for every share for around 32% of Grupo Aeromexicos outstanding capital stock.

The offer is awaiting regulatory sanction from the United States and Mexico, and also the boards of both airlines.

Through a $65 million endowment in 2012, Delta claims 4.1% of Aeromexicos stakes, along with a choice to purchase more 8.1%.

Its pension trust likewise has chances to purchase an extra 4.6%.
