Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (PIAC) has announced invitations to bid for the inflight duty-free contract onboard national carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) international flights.
According to PIAC, PIA aims at revamping its resources and modernising its fleet and services according to the needs of todays avaiation world. This five-year contract features a further extension option.
The airline said that, for this contract, the airline seeks well-established and highly experienced organisations for the sale of duty-free goods onboard its international routes. The new concessionnaire will be responsible for provision of onboard shopping convenience to PIA passengers on par with other reputable airlines of the world.
PIAC offers a storage facility situated at Karachi airport. However, plans are to arrange for bonded warehouses at other domestic stations between the contractor.
Interested parties should invest minimum capital amount equivalent to $1m, including iCarts, touch and press computers, promotional equipment etc.
PIAC seeks a certain percentage of sales as its commission and incentives offered for the PIAC Flight Crew sales force.
Deadline for submission of applications to tender to the Director Procurement & Logistics, PIA Procurement & Logistics Building, JIAP Karachi is December 21 by 1030 PST.
