Jordan,United Arab Emirates : $128 million, 103 MW contract for Enviromena and TSK
Publish Date : 23-Dec-2015
A UAE-based international solar photovoltaic integrator, Enviromena Power Systems (Enviromena), and TSK Group, a Spanish engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, have won a contract for construction of a 103-megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Jordans southern region of Al Quweira.
The $128 million solar plant will be funded by Jordans Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through a grant from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
Sami Khoreibi, Enviromena's CEO said, This is the largest project Enviromena has been awarded to date and is indicative of the growth of our company and the regional market. This joint venture will combine both Enviromena and TSKs expertise and resources to build the largest Solar PV plant in Jordan.
The Al Quweira solar plant will be crucial to Jordans energy diversification programme and significantly reduce the Kingdoms reliance on expensive hydrocarbons, helping it to reach its target of adding 600 megawatts of solar and wind power by 2016.
The largest EPC PV contractor in the MENA, Enviromena delivers turnkey PV solar power solutions and operation and maintenance services mainly focusing on utility scale, grid connected projects. The firm has nearly eight years of experience in constructing PV plants in the region, with over 70 MW of PV installed capacity under operation in a total of nine regional countries.
An international EPC contractor TSK has provided power plant design, supply, construction, operation and maintenance services for nearly 3 decades.
