During the current financial year, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) would get Rs.261.90 crore machinery and equipment to increase patient care.

Efforts are being made to ensure timely completion of the procurement processes. Major equipment will be procured in 2015-16 fiscal, including Small Incision Lenticule Extactionfor Lasik Surgery by the R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences; and Radiology Information System to store, manipulate and distribute patient radiological data and imagery by the radiology department, AIIMS Deputy Director V. Srinivas said in a statement.

The cardio-radiology department would also be buying a high-end CT scanner capable of advanced cardiovascular applications.
