Indias leading infrastructure player Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today has made announcement on its receipt of a major contract from the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL).
L&T has revealed that the Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business of L&T Construction has secured the prestigious contract worth Rs. 3,115 crore together with its South Korean joint venture (JV) partner Daewoo E&C.
In its media statement, the company has disclosed that the contract is intended to design and develop a greenfield six-lane extra-dosed cable bridge over the River Ganga close to Kachchi Dargah in the Patna District on the National Highway (NH)-30, close to Bidupur in the District of Vaishali on NH-103 in the State of Bihar.
There will be establishment of a road alignment covering a distance of 22km, comprising a 9.76km extra-dosed bridge over the Ganga, under this coveted engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract.
As part of this key project, works comprising viaducts, road overbridges (ROBs), major bridges and roads will be carried out.
The media statement disclosed, "After completion, this will be the countrys longest extra-dosed bridge. The project is scheduled to be completed in four years.
L&Ts Deputy MD & President Mr. S.N. Subrahmanyan revealed, This is a significant win in the heavy civil infrastructure space and we hope that this is a sign for many such projects involving vital infrastructure that are in the offing to materialize.
Subrahmanyan further said, This mandate is truly representative of our expertise in building bridges as we are already building some major bridges in India: one across the Narmada, one in Goa, another near Delhi. With the support of our JV partners, we are confident of delivering as per the requirements of our clients.
