Publish Date : 17-Feb-2016

State-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP) has awarded an EPCC (engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning) contract to a consortium of two Arab companies. This contract is for the supply of jet fuel to Hamad International Airport in the capital Doha.

The Qatari Teyseer Trading & Contracting Company and the Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) has won the contract, which includes the construction of 24-inch pipelines from the Northern Qatari industrial port of Ras Laffan and the Southeastern industrial city and tanker terminal of Mesaieed to Hamad Airport, and also pumps, power facilities and four storage tanks with a capacity of 53,000 cubic metres each.

Completion of the project is expected in 2019 and it involves the supply of jet fuel from Ras Laffan and Mesaieed to Hamad Airport beyond 2030. The project has been designed to support the aviation sector in Qatar and will ensure all jet fuel needs for Hamad Airport until 2030 and beyond.
